The Retro Half Moon
'The Retro Half Moon' is made from solid walnut and cast acrylic. The walnut is finished with all natural, boiled linseed oil, and then it is all put together using nickel-free metal rings. Then topped with nickel-free, fishhook style hardware and a clear, plastic stopper. Everything is hanging, which allows each piece to flex and move at the joints.
I buy large stock walnut lumber, rough cut, and mill it down to the 3mm stock sheets. Then I laser cut the design, sand smooth, and finally apply the finish for a rich, dark walnut color.
